Buy from the seller yourself

Place your order directly with Taobao, 1688, JD, WeChat sellers, or other Chinese stores and pay the seller yourself — this forwarding workflow does not buy goods for you. (Personal accounts can use the separate WooliiPorter buying service at /services/daigou if they want the store order placed for them.)

Use your China warehouse address

Enter your WooliiPorter warehouse recipient, phone, address, and postal code as the domestic delivery address in China. Copy the details exactly from your dashboard.

Pre-alert parcels and follow their arrival

After sellers ship, use Pre-alert parcels to add each China domestic tracking number with the product name, quantity and value. Arrived parcels are photographed and wait in My Parcels, with free storage and no time limit.

Choose parcels, consolidate and ship

Tick the arrived parcels you want to ship together and submit one shipment. The warehouse packs them and quotes the packed box; nothing is charged before that. Pay for dispatch to Chile. Chilean deliveries need the street and number, apartment or block where relevant, the comuna, the region and a reachable phone number; include the recipient's RUT if the carrier asks for it.

What should I prepare for my first shipment to Chile?

The seller has not shipped yet

Create and verify your account, then copy the assigned China warehouse address from your dashboard. Pre-alert each parcel once the seller provides its domestic tracking number. A store order number is different; do not invent a tracking number to submit a pre-alert.

You have a domestic tracking number

Confirm that the seller is sending to your assigned China address. Enter each domestic parcel and its actual contents, and prepare the overseas recipient address. Sellers may split one purchase into several parcels.

You need help buying

Forwarding pre-alerts are for purchases you make yourself. If you need someone to place and pay for the store order, check the separate buying service and its quote first.

Which costs should I check beyond international freight?

Check the goods price, seller-to-warehouse shipping, requested warehouse services, international freight, and any import tax, duty or carrier clearance fee. You normally pay the seller for the goods and domestic delivery. Review the actual order quote for warehouse services and international shipping; a calculator estimate alone is not the complete landed cost.

For example, if two sellers each send one item, pre-alert the domestic parcels separately. After they arrive, choose whether to ship them together; compare one consolidated carton with separate shipments using the final dimensions and the greater of actual and volumetric weight. Adding the weights from the domestic labels does not establish the international chargeable weight.

Why buyers in Chile use a China warehouse

Many Chinese sellers only support domestic delivery inside China. A forwarding warehouse gives you a usable China address, then turns domestic seller parcels into one international shipment to Chile. Common uses include fashion and footwear, phone and computer accessories, anime and collectible merchandise, and hobby supplies.

Shipping and packing tips for Chile

For Chile, consolidating several seller parcels into one shipment avoids paying a separate international minimum on each. Keep the total within your own budget for the USD 500 tariff threshold, and never split one purchase to avoid tax.

Customs and declaration basics

Chilean customs (Servicio Nacional de Aduanas) and the SII apply 19% VAT to purchases from abroad of up to USD 500; above USD 500 a 6% customs tariff is added. If the foreign platform is not registered with the SII, the taxes are collected at import by the courier or Correos de Chile. WooliiPorter can help organize parcel information for forwarding, but you are responsible for ensuring goods are legal to export from China and import into Chile.

Forwarded parcels pay VAT at import

Since 25 October 2025, platforms registered with the SII charge Chilean VAT (19%) at checkout on purchases up to USD 500. A purchase from a domestic Chinese seller forwarded to Chile is not a sale by a registered platform, so the VAT is collected at import by the courier or Correos de Chile, which can also lengthen release from customs.

The USD 500 tariff threshold

Purchases for personal use up to USD 500 pay VAT only; above USD 500 a 6% customs tariff applies in addition. The old exemption for purchases under USD 41 no longer exists.

How consolidation can reduce cost

Shipping parcels one by one is often expensive. Combining packages into one shipment and removing unnecessary packaging can reduce volumetric weight and lower the final chargeable weight. This matters most for light but bulky goods such as shoes, plush toys, storage boxes, home goods, and seller cartons with excess filler.

Before shipping to Chile

People also call this a China shipping agent, a forwarding address or a consolidation service. Buying on your behalf (a shopping agent or daigou) is a separate, optional WooliiPorter service.

Can WooliiPorter buy items from Chinese online stores for me?

This page describes self-purchase forwarding: you pay the seller, and WooliiPorter handles the parcels. A separate personal buying service is available for eligible products at /services/daigou. Check the supported platform, item quote and service fees there before paying.

Can I combine multiple parcels before shipping to Chile?

Yes. Pre-alert each parcel; arrived parcels wait in My Parcels with free storage and no time limit, and you tick the ones to ship together to Chile. The warehouse packs them and quotes the packed box.

How is shipping cost calculated?

Personal shipments are priced on the greater of the packed box's actual and volumetric weight, rounded up in 100 g steps, on the air-parcel service. Use the shipping calculator to estimate from currently enabled products and destinations; the final quote follows warehouse packing and measurement.

Do I pay tax on a parcel forwarded from China to Chile?

Yes. Chilean VAT of 19% applies to purchases from abroad up to USD 500, and a 6% customs tariff is added above USD 500. Because a forwarded parcel is not sold by an SII-registered platform, the tax is collected at import by the courier or Correos de Chile.

Are there item restrictions for Chile?

Yes. Restrictions depend on item type and route.
