For consignments valued at £135 or less, UK VAT is collected at the point of sale by the seller or online marketplace rather than at the border. Above £135, import VAT and any applicable duty are assessed at clearance and collected from the recipient or importer before delivery. HMRC is the authoritative reference; thresholds and rates can change.
UK postcodes split into an outward code (for example SW1A) and an inward code. WooliiPorter resolves UK destination zones from the outward-code prefix, and an unresolvable postcode blocks the quote rather than guessing a zone — so entering the complete, correctly formatted postcode is what unlocks accurate zoned pricing for your address.
Shipping parcels one by one is often expensive. Combining packages into one shipment and removing unnecessary packaging can reduce volumetric weight and lower the final chargeable weight. This matters most for light but bulky goods such as shoes, plush toys, storage boxes, home goods, and seller cartons with excess filler.

International shipping usually uses the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Use the shipping calculator for an estimate, then confirm the final quote after warehouse measurement and route selection.
UK destination zones are resolved from the outward code of the postcode (the first part, such as SW1A). If the postcode cannot be resolved, the quote is withheld rather than a zone being guessed, so a complete and correctly formatted postcode is required before pricing can be confirmed.
